Rod Building Workshop

G'day All, Just wondering when the next rod building day will be held and if I could come along to listen,watch and learn ? I'm totally new to rod building so thought it would be a good chance to learn before I destroy some perfectly good blanks. I would love to be able to build my own rods and enjoy something I made myself not something I just picked up from a store.

Last year the rod building week end was in May.
When the notice goes up get in fast because they are well worth the time. Stuart is just great he has so much knowledge and he does not mind passing it on to everyone, as well as Stuart there are others there to help out when Stuart is with someone else.

Where are you located as there are always others here that I am sure would give up a day to help you out and get you on the right track.

I will be posting details and a date for the next Rod Building Weekend sometime next year... making sure it doesn't clash with Mother's Day, as this years did!!! sorry.

Again, there will be a limit of about 15 starters and first in best dressed.

Also, with the interest the RBW weekend seems to attract, I might consider two in '08, but that's not cast in stone at this stage.

So as soon as I post up the dates get your name in!!!!

hi just going thru some of the old threads and as a complete noobie i was wondering if there are any workshops happening this year. i live on the central coast nsw but can travel. if there is anyone who may be able to help me get started and offer some advice it would be greatly appreciated

I'm glad to see you posting again. I hope everything has settled down and is going well for you. I would like to offer my assistance for any weekend you plan next year. Like many others here, I love my rod building and would like to help out (and learn) in any way I can. Just let me know when you can.

Nibbler, I am only at Warners Bay and have started holidays as of 44 minutes ago. I am free until the 19th August (when we are taking the new boat up to 1770 etc) so if you would like some help I can lend some assistance in that area. let me know as my wife is quickly allocating what time I have available left before I head off fishing.

thanks jan, i can wait until you return as i have a lot of work on at the moment and cant get any time off until sept/oct so if the offer is still open then i will come up to see you then
