They would be made for Alvey with all the specs here.
They're based on Snyder Glas blanks

Hi Youngy,

The internet page that Scott put in his post covers it all.

I have a Jack Alvey Special and it has "Jack Alvey Special. CR145FT6W" on it which means that it's 12'1"long, fast taper and has 6 wraps of fibre glass.

I noticed an interesting thing after I purchased it as it only has 5 guides (all on the top section) where similar ones have 6 guides. I spoke with a member of the Alvey family about it and he told me that his father wanted a guide removed to give the rod extra casting distance.

I normally use a 6" reel on it for the beach, but if I'm on the rocks, I'll put a 6.5" reel on. It copped some punishment last week off the breakwater wall at Iluka.

Snyder Glas make the Jack Alvey Special. Gary Howard makes the Alvey special which is very similar. TOL is spot on with the spec's and all.
