Just went into the garage to stare at the rod rack in dismay :'(

There was 3 spiders webs on the tinny trailer and I don't know if I was hallucinating or not but I'm bloody sure a little arachnid voice said, "we wouldn't be here if you got out on the water more often".

Now my body is telling me one thing and sea breeze is telling me another, whispering something about next Wednesday and Thursday. Is discretion the better part of valour or should I listen to those spiders?

The other option of course is that I visit a psych on Wednesday or Thursday;D

decisions...........decisions............

The government tells us that we are eating too many pies and dying of heart disease, then in the next breath they're telling us we are living too long and there'll be no more pension money left for us. I wish they'd make their bloody minds up.

Mate just rang.

He said 2 words and hung up.

"Thursday . Mackerel."

Time to organise the lawns.

LOL she certainly has a funny way of making us look at different aspects of our lives. That's for sure. Lifes short. Do It!!

Kev my friend, let me assure you that if you go fishing within the next 3 months you will hate yourself.
I am sure the other zipper club memebers will tell you the same thing.
I went back to work to early and suffered for the next 12 months.
Be good to go fishing though. I haven't even caught a snapper this year.

Kev,
When I went back to the specialist to get my clearance to back to work after three months, I asked him if it ok to go fishing again. He said 'sure, it will be nice and relaxing for you.' As I was walking out of his office I said I will bring some photos back of some Marlin.............He then said 'Get back in here!!! By fishing I meant wetting a line......not tackling game and sport fish.....leave that for another 6 months or you will be really sorry! light duties applies to work AND leisure. I went back to work when allowed - but still tried to do too much and finished up back in hospital with a sore chest - its the muscles that take time to heal - though the heart is fine. I still suffer from a sore chest if i do too much now - even though the op was 7 years ago.

Please take our advice and take it easy - we want to see you around for a lot longer yet.

Tight Lines and cheers

Greg

Haha Kev. If you were standing there listening to spiders telling you to go fishing and you are not ready to do it yet then there will be and even bigger voice behind you yelling at you not to be silly. I wonder who??? A clue may well be your response being "Yes dear!" ;)

Poodroo

P.S. After admiring the spiders and their intricate webs and hearing them tell me I wasn't getting out enough I'd have responded rather quickly with a can of Mortein. ;D

Kev, beware of taking advice from bugs. I once took an overseas holiday following advice from a friendly lady beetle only to wake up in a Mexican prison with a severe hangover, shaved eyebrows and a large pink tattoo across my bum cheeks that reads "Polka music rules OK"....... Don't do it.

I think if you listen to the spiders voice the next voice you hear may well be your specialist, or the nurse at the hospital saying "Mr Kingtin, you've been very naughty and should not have gone fishing" then you will have to explain the hallucinations in the garage and they might give you one of those tight fitting jackets :D

Graeme, Greg and DirtyS,

I think you're right. I shall have to listen to my body, and my rib cage is telling me that it ain't ready, particularly as it moved a large water lily out of the pond yesterday and has been complaining ever since. The left arm too (from where they took one of the veins) isn't yet ready for pumping large shovellies ;D

I shall watch those spiders grow and bestow them with a false sense of security until such time as we shall play the squidgy game in more mays than one ;D

Andrew, you're probably right.............the most dangerous thing that I could do, would be to ignore "her who shall be obeyed" ;D

LGM, those lady beetles are treacherous. One spoke to me down the Gut in Malta whilst I was "having a session" with me Army mates..........I woke up with 2 black eyes, an empty wallet and "Made In Hong Kong" tattood across me back. Me mates were missing, but the MP's gave me a nice ride back to camp in the paddy wagon ::)

I'll never understand my neighbour. He has recently started wheel-clamping his own boat when he finds he has inadvertently parked it in his own drive! I wonder if he is a sadist, a masochist or both?

Yep. Better not push things Kevin. That wasn't just a flesh wound you went in for. The fish will still be there for you when you're properly healed and your friends will be lining up for their chance to take you out fishing with them when that time comes.

If you're up to it, maybe one of the gang could have you along with them now as a passenger on their next trip? Leave the fishing and heavy work to them but you could enjoy the ocean and the fresh air. Maybe put those camera skills of yours to work and get some more nice pictures for us to see?

You'll get your strength back and show those fish who's boss soon enough.

Nice thought EC but have you ever been for a stroll along the beach and seen someone catching fish and you haven't any tackle with you? I think going for a boat trip and watching someone else catch fish would tear the heart out of me moreso than my op ;D

The way the weather has been lately............I wouldn't be getting a chance anyway...... even if I was as fit as a butcher's dog :'(

I often receive bills saying 'final demand', but it never is. If anything, they start asking me for more money.
