Hi All,
I recently bought a second hand Blue Fin 4.5 Warrior with a 40Hp Mariner 2005 model. I am worried the boat is underpowered, it needed some work done to it and have since replaced the floor, new leccy, twin delkors on one side, another delkor on the other for accesories, live bait tank and some new electrics.
I work close with Blue Fin boats (supplier) and asked them about the 40HP and they suggested it may be abit underpowered.(rated to 60HP). I don't have the money to trade and buy a new motor.
Suggestion is to change the jets/reeds and switch to stainless prop. I have been told the motor is actually a restricted 50HP. Can anyone give me any help with this? And has anyone had this sort of work done to their motor and at what cost? Do they mean with "reeds" the actual reed plate covering the valves?
