Whats the go. Can someone please explain !!!!!!!

The following are direct quotes from The Shooters Party website.

The Australian Shooters Party has announced its candidates for the Federal Election on November 24. The Party will field candidates for the Senate in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.

In New South Wales, the Party will run a joint ticket with the Fishing and Lifestyle Party; and will run in its own right in Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia.

Candidates are:
New South Wales:

Robert Borsak
Bob Shaw
Jim Muirhead
Andrew Hestelow
Tom MorganQueensland:

Paul Feeney
Allen Hrstich

Victoria:
Brett Parker
Matt GrahamSouth Australia:

John Hahn
Basil C P BorunThe Australian Shooters Party is a national party, and is the Federal equivalent of The Shooters Party, and it:

Actively opposes the extreme greens;
Supports the conservation efforts of hunters, land owners and land managers in Australia;
Promotes and supports hunting of feral animals on public land such as state forests and National Parks;
Supports the need to control and prevent the uncontrolled spread of pest plants and weeds on the same public lands.It also has policies mainly mirroring those of The Shooters Party, relating to firearms ownership and use; individual freedoms; resistance to government interference in people’s lives, and, in particular, resistance to the unreasonable and draconian restrictions being placed on recreational fishers – restrictions similar to those already placed on shooters.

Those policies can be seen in a separate page on this website.
This one as well:

The aim of the ASP is to try to keep any Green from picking up a State Senate position. This is a complex calculation, and varies from State to State, and really comes down to the last available position, and the relative "part quotas" achieved by the Majors. For example, in NSW, in the last Federal election, it was Labor that held a part quota (the Coalition having achieved just over three). The Labor candidate was therefore in direct competition with the Green. CDP preferences got Labor over the line ahead of the Green.

In this election, and according to the Majors' own polling, the position is likely to be reversed. It is likely that Labor will achieve just over three quotas (therefore, only having a small amount of votes that would flow as preferences), with the Coalition having to fight it out with The Green. The preference flow between the anti -The Green micros, and the anti- The Green minors (ASP/CDP) will therefore be crucial to stopping the Greens.

In Queensland, there is a very real chance that either Family First, Australian Fishing and Lifestyle Party (supported by ASP), and/or Pauline Hanson will actually garner enough preferences to overcome the Green, perhaps overrun Boswell, and pick up the last spot.

Hey Derek, what explanation are you wanting?

Personally, I don't have a problem with anything mentioned in your post & in particular, your stated policies of the ASP. As such, I have no problem with the AFLP being associated with ASP in any way shape or form.

Cheers - Lou

I think the REAL question that needs an explanation is What the hell do we have some dumb yokel from Deep in NSW territory running for the senate in QLD?? now that beggars belief!!

At least Shooters have something in common with Fishers and 4wders and camping, its all lifestyle! Derek as I remember - you were the one that asked when are we going to hear about other lifestyle issues. Perhaps this is one of those?
