Hi All
Just wondering what marine polish you all use.

I have a few stains on the boat and also just like to keep it protected from the weather abit.

Could you recommend a good fibreglass polish.
Anything you can use that will have it gleaming but not make the deck too slippery would be great :-/

Hi Guys, i use a paint protection that is guaranteed for five years, it's called infinity, its fairly expensive, but once applied it makes it very easy to keep your boat like brand new, i got it off the net www.paintprotection.com.au it's fairly hard work as you have to cut the gelcoat or paint back with a cutting compound ie gel coat restorer to get rid of any stains etc then apply a pre polish then two coats of the silica protection, but in my opinion it is worth it as after each trip i just hose down and every third or fourth time use a soft wash shampoo to keep it looking great.

G'day

Have a search for my thread, Detailing, How to.

Currently doing a 52' kingfisher, is coming up absolutely stunning.

I personally use Meguiars, 3m is also good.

The septone stuff is rubbish imo.

I use Auto Glym's super resin polish on my Bertram. It lives on a mooring and stands up pretty well to the salt. I also use a car wash and wax on a regular basis with broom.

i use swissvax nautico on my boa, as an wax. http://www.swissvax.com/
its a plate ally, and black! but the process is the same with fibre glass.
any product with a fine cutter should remove marks and fine scratches.
its the wax that will protect.

cheers

Question from newbie. I got an old 3.4m boat. Just used Septone Ultra Cut Fibreglass Polish on the top areas. Are you supposed to polish the hull of the boat and the parts that are underwater?

I never have, will the the occasional tunnel in a cat. The undersides (below chine) are usually good, as it does not cop any UV light.

A light wax will not hurt, but isn't nessecary imo.

Thanks for the advice all.

I tried the stuff from Supercheap and think I know why it is called "Supercheap".

Don't like it at all.

Dave I will try the Meguirs and will pick some up on my way home from Boat bits tomorrow arvo.

I just want something that will take any surface stains away and of course make the boat look good as well as some protection.

Will let you know how the meguirs checks out.

Thanks all for your suggestions.
