i hit a submerged rock in my 1 week old 40hp today which made a few little chips and a bit of a bend in the prop. what affect will this have and is there anyway i can minimise it or repair it

Benny,

If your in brissy give performance propellers a call, they can re-machine the prop back to the tolerance, or better than orginal.

If you're on the Gold Coast try Australian Propeller repairs in Johnson Street Southport. We've used him quite a few times over the years and always does a top job.

Cant say what the cost will be, will depend on the damage.
