A question, as a relative new boy to fishing with soft plastic lures. Well under that name anyway, we used to call em "rubbertails" when I fished for mulloway at the Murray Mouth 20 years ago using Mr Twisters with some success.

The question is. Do you use a snap or a combo of snap and swivel or do you tie your leader directly to the lure?

It would be a fair assumtion that if you were to change your lure as the days fishing session progressed your leader would get smaller and smaller.

I tie directly to my leader. My leader is generally around 3 to 4 metres long tho so shortening it by retying is not noticeable.

I have used flyclips for small jigs with good success. Makes finding the right jig/tail selection for finicky fish a whole lot less painful.

Jack.

I have never used a snap or anything else to attach the lure, always either a loop knot or a uni, depends on the type of lure.
