leeon from stabi factory wanted me to explain to yous peoples out there so i put the email so you could read it for yourselves

Good Morning Don

Thank you for your email Don it has highlighted some issues I will need to discuss with the dealership concerned as we at Stabi-Craft have never been able to deliver a boat in 4 to 6 weeks from time of order.

We tell all our dealers to allow 10 to 12 weeks delivery time this ensures that the customers do not get high expectations as you have in this instance, from the time of order the boat will generally drop in the factory build plan in 6 weeks as we run about 6 weeks in advance, it then takes a week to complete then is shipped which can take up to 3 weeks depending on shipping lines etc.

Don we do not have your money your dealer is responsible for this, I certainly understand your anger at this situation as I would feel exactly the same way should I be in your shoes, I believe you should go and see the owner of the business and discuss this with him, the only reason I can think that this has happened is that the dealer had a boat on order already that he believed could have suited you.

I am very disappointed that you have got off to a bad start but hope this can be resolved and you can eventually enjoy your new Stabi-Craft.

Kind Regards

Hi Don

Boat due in on the 8th of November things have stretched out a little at the moment due to the shipping line taking our boats going to Brisbane via Melbourne, any chance you could jump back on fishnet and explain to all the reason it takes as long as it does, and once you have the boat you will be able to do your talking on the water cause you will be able to stay and fish when all the others are running for cover as things get a little rough.

You have made the right decision on quality and performance and this comes at a price, as you know good thing are worth waiting for. Ask the boys at leisure about the ski pole I am sure they can come up with something.

Once you get it get amongst it

Regards

The same brissy dealer quoted to me 5-6 weeks delivery when I spoke to them a couple months ago, so its what they quote everyone.

Can you keep us informed of the response from the dealer who has interupted your LEISURE?

The boating world is a small one, and if they keep playing these games, there business will suffer.

Have you contacted the dept of fair trading yet?

"any chance you could jump back on fishnet and explain to all the reason it takes as long as it does,"

Interesting the see the power of forums at work for this to be mentioned in the letter
I certainly look here before making purchasing decisions

3 weeks from NZ seems a long time.

Yep, your right Greg.
Sadly, it's seems to be a regularly recurring theme with this dealer.
I wonder why the brands of boats they sold 2 years ago are no longer sold there?? :-X

DBL it must be frustrating but remember good things come to those who wait and Stabi seem to be doing the right thing with saying they are going to talk to the dealer and i'm sure they will . they obviously understand the power of this and other forums . I would love to listen in to that conversation. it is frustrating getting lied to though i agree with other comments about getting a loaner.

At least the boat company have spoken with you re their part.
The dealership are at fault and as I said in my original reply, I will never go back to them. It would appear they lie to consumers constantly in order to gain a benefit in so far as interest on your money - sounds like fraud to me.

Good luck and I hope you get something out of the buggers - forums such as this will certainly weed out the shonks.

yes word travels fast as i hadnt metioned to leeon that i had been on ausfish, not fishnet as he states, but he has heard some talk so just goes to show that it is well worth subscribing to various forums to let others know of peoples experiences good and bad
regards don

Good to see you get a positive response from the the build company at least you can get some peace of mind , it is jut unfortunate that the company you bought it from couldn't have been more honest, it seems that a lot of dealers will stretch the truth a little to get your sale ok a lot, this is the way it seems to be on lot of occassions and you hear the " they said 5 weeks and its been 8,9 10 weeks " a fair bit now , they should be made more accountable .
Anyways good to a bit of a win and I hope the dealers of Australia are taking notice your reputations are starting to get known and thanks to forums like Ausfish the word of which are bad and which are good will preceed them.
