First Off shore trip

Im a new boaty and Fisho plannng to head outside to Flinders and the like next weekend, any tips on the best spots and likely catches would be welcomed ??

Also need to buy 4 PFD1's for the boat ( not the $12 kind) any advice on the best reasonably priced jackets would be great.

The flash $200 PFDs would look like great buying if you ever really needed one - though you can get them on special for around half that. And of course a PFD is only going to save you if you're wearing it, so get one of the inflatables in either the stoll or belt style and wear it all the time - especially if you're by yourself.

One other good idea is to have a self inflating PFD attached to the handles of your safety grab bag so you can just grab it as you go over the side. It will inflate and keep the bag afloat for you to then swim to.

As to spots, have a look at this link. They aren't always accurate, but will put you in the area. Then just hunt around with your sounder for a show of structure / bait / fish.
