What are people's thoughts on heading out from caloundra tomrrow??? The forcast for this afternoon was that it was going to blow and there is hardly any wind here at the moment. It looked pretty good this afternoon. I am new to heading out to the reefs :-/

best thing to do is to get up, have a look outside and then make your mind up. Im in the same boat considering whether to head to moreton or not. By the looks of the forecast a late start might be the go.

Synoptic Situation
A vigorous surface trough approaching eastern Queensland will move over these waters early Saturday. Expect gusty SW winds to develop during the morning as the trough moves offshore. South of Sandy Cape expect NW winds to be gusty ahead of the trough.
Strong Wind Warning
Sandy Cape to Coolangatta including Moreton Bay
NW/W winds increasing to 25/30 knots this afternoon. Winds shifting SW at 25/30 knots early Saturday morning. Seas rising to 3 metres in open waters. These conditions should ease a little during Saturday afternoon.

They are not allways right but they have a lot more gear than me for forcasting the weather

Hi all,
I'm looking at going out around the cape tomorrow early morning (SUnday). I looked at the surf cams and there seems to be no swell around, just a bit of chop. Prediction is still 10-15 but easing in the arvo???
Anyone else heading out Sunday.....
