Getting to Fraser Island

This year our annual Fraser trip in early November will be for 2 weeks
and a few mates want to come over during that time but only for a few days.
Problem is getting them there as none of them have any 4x4 driving experience.

Short of hiring a vehicle and hoping for the best, does anyone know if there is some means of getting them to Orchid Beach.

They will only have 1 large bag each and no fishing gear etc and they will be coming in via Rainbow Beach.

Any info much appreciated.

Yeah i reckon get the barge to kingfisher resort out of hervey bay and the people at the resort there at kingfisher will be able to line them up a 4wd bus to orchid or they hire vehicles from there i think.

If they are stepping off the mainland at rainbow - how about a one way trip on one of those big 4x4 buses - as far as Iandian - you could get them from there

Hearvy Bay Airport to the strip at Orchid... Quick...Easy...Cost a few $$$ but they might get to see how the gutters on the eastern look...

Hi Guys

There is a 4x4 taxi at Rainbow Beach it maybe woth checking the cost I know he will take people to Orchid Beach to to a point where you could pick them up.
