hi every one i have a johnson outboard and the previous owner has put some coating on the motor , i have been told it could be inox , it has left a yellowish coating on it . i have tried degreaser, turps ,hot water kero but can not budge it , any suggestions? cheers

Be nice to know what it is.
Wouldn't wan't it on me motor, but soaked in to me leaf springs might be good.

But on the other hand if it's not greasy then it's the white paint going yellow, even your white gel coat on your glass boat will do that.

So go out and by some white paint to re-coat her.

Could also be vege oil. It will leave a yellowy coating behind that sets like thick glue.
