Hey all
Just wondering if anyone can give me a little help with my first boat.
Its a haines hunter v146r which i am currently doing up myself.
The problem i have at the moment is that i currently have a yamaha 2stroke 40hp outboard on the rear which works except the boat tends to get bogged down when i go to accelerate in lightly choppy weather. i've driven tinny's of equal size with the same sized motor mine which worked nicely and am wondering if its because the motor is too small. Although i'm not sure. there are times where it picks up nicely but after a short burst will come off its plane and become sluggish. i was thinking of upgrading it to an 80hp but thought the 40hp would be fine. is it because the boat is heavier then an equally sized tinny.
