Hey Guys,
Just a friendly heads up to all the trailerboat owners in South East Queensland.
I work in the marine industry, so I see a lot of what's going on.
In the past few weeks I have heard of no less than six boats which have been stolen from private and commercial residences, all in the Tweed, Gold Coast and Brisbane region.
Not just small boats either, from 10ft right through to 26 foot trailer boats.
Theft deterrants havn't helped either, as some have had them removed without a blink of an eye, while people have been home during the day, at night, and one of the boats was even stolen from a commercial secure storage yard at a local Marina during broad daylight.
Most boats have been found recovered, damaged (they use chainsaws to remove the motors), stripped of all worthy items and dumped in a way to cause further damage.
Report anything that you see, including if you are offered a very cheap motor.
Lock up and insure is my advice guys, take notice!
Regards
Darren
