Is capacity limited based on POB or Weight or both ?

I was looking at a 2004 qunitrex freedom sport 500 ( 5.28mx 2.25m) with positive full foam, but its says 5POB or 500kgs.

Is 28K for the boat with a 100hp 4st Yamaha with 28 hours on it to much anyway ?

Comparing it to a new bluefin bowrider with 80hp for the same price, but thats a confirmed 6 POB.

Yeah , read that before. So it should be 6, but the old style plate says 5 and 500.

datamile, the plate that the manufacturer states is the one to go by, the qld transport is only a guide to use as it averages 6 people at 75 kgs. not too many fishermen i know weigh that little. i think 28 is a little high.

It depends on how the regulators are feeling when they come along side !!

Generally 5 average persons do not add up to 500Kgs, however, throw in each persons gear an esky full of refreshments and you may be on the limit.

5 persons is 5 persons. 500KG no matter what it consist off is the same.

The 28k for what you have described is reasonable. The Quintrex brand boats seem to hold their value very well.

label on mine says : 10 people plus gear = 1770Kg.

Therefore any mixture of people and/or gear as long as the 1770 is not exceeded.

My manufactures plate says i am legal for 12 adults,i just fitted one of those capacity labels that are required by law and it says an 8 metre by 3 metre vessel is legal for 8 people, that is quiet a big difference from what the manufacturer recomends,on the same token i feel 8 people is even to much.
