G day fishos. Now what if you caught a fish with a hook in it. How would treat it.

Mate it would depend on the size of it. If it was of legal size and the type that I was targeting then I would keep it and the hook. If undersize would remove hook and release

Most of mine have hooks in them when I pull them up.

SgBfish, LoL ;)
I have caught a few fish over the years with rusted hooks in their mouths and its a bit sad.. I once caught a breambo who had a hook which had obviously passed through his system, because it was rusty and haging out his bum.
I decided to let him go because he didn't look too healthy but I tried to alleviate his pain by removing the hook, but he started to bleed so I thought maybe it wasn't a good thing.. I mean what can you do in those circumstances ?

My old man once caught one with the hook hanging outside his bum and simply pulled the line out and I think took pity on him and let him go.
I did see that photo a while back that had the bream hooked through the eye of another hook in his mouth. Now that is very Rick James (Super freaky).
