I'll leave the glue to those that know cork better then I but for the rubber I'd be using Lanox or any of those lanolin based goops or even straight lanolin grease.
i was taught to use stuff called nitrocellulose or something like that,:P i am sure someone will know the correct name..was long ago.. just sand some old cork down into a dust & mix the cork dust with the nitro into a nice thick paste, fill all holes etc & let dry. when properly dry sand back to original shape.. although, cork is wood, so any wood glue that was a bit flexible may do the job..

Thanks DR
You can also use araldite or even fibreglass resin...make the cork paste as DR says and then sand it back. If you get a cork ring that is really cactus you can buy a new one and cut it in 2 , glue it on and sand to shape....in this regard sure beats hypalon
You could use Armor All on the rubber - it is amazing how it brings up plastic and rubber..just wipe it on with a damp cloth.
cheers, Mike

you can also use rubber grease.
You get this from repco/supercheap
Yo may consider replacing the damaged cork with new cork then sand it down.
;D
