All,

Looking at a boat on the nthside (private sale).
Any recommendations on a mobile marine engineer/qualified boat inspector?

Or will any boat shops come out to inspect boat and outboard for me?

cheers,

mik

thanks BM,

I have already checked the forum and yes it was, however the bloke is based right down the sthside.

was quoted over $400 from marinematters, which I think is a bit steep. (they do not check motors either - have to get a marine mechanic for that).

BM - I noticed your price was around $160 and assumed I could get similar up here - just need a pointer in the right direction.

So...... can anyone point me there please???

I used a bloke on the Northside and he charged me $110 to go out and inspect an ebay boat. Turns out the info the seller didnt give was that the engine had overheated and instead of replacing both head gaskets had only replaced one. The pressures were different. I declined to buy the boat at the bid price because he had withheld info when I had asked him if there had been any problems. He had me barred from ebay . Oh well. I think there was only 1 dealer over there .
