All,

With the onset of the 1770/Agnes Water M&G fast approaching I have started undergoing some maintenance in preparation ;D Both the bildge pump and live well pump where first on the list.

The blidge pump was working (running but not pumping) on closer inspection after pulling up the floor found I that it had popped out of the base. An easy fix just click it back in.

The pump for the live well pump however I found had pretty much seized with the impeller hard to move eitherway. After removing it from the mount through the pod I went on a search for a new one yesterday, easy !::)

I visited three likely stores that might stock them on the Northside and neither stocked the same pump. :( Bugger ! A quick search on the net revealled the manufacturer has changed the style of pump and hence I won't be able to utilize the same mounting bracket on the pod.

So after all that ;D would any one know where I might get my hands on an attwood Aerator 500 pump new that was manufactured about 3 years ago?

A few piccies of the pump in question. Failing this i'll just change the mounting bracket through the transom ::)

With all the bilge pumps etc it's a good idea to flush/run with fresh water as well as some (most) shafts aren't rust proof and they grow and get stuck on the shaft seals after awhile.

Yeah, it had never crossed my mind to flush the live well pump, it is always in contact with salt water after all ::)

Black Rat, i have never seen one of those before does it cycle water or does it just create air in the tank water?

Cheers Chris

Chris,

It is a pump that is bolted to the pod (inside the hull) which sits below the waterline. It basically pumps seawater straight into the livewell.

Gary,

I check with them and they can only get there hands on the new style of pump which dosen't suit the mounting bracket of the old style of pump. I was trying to avoid changing the mounting set up through the pod and it looks like it will have to be done.
