Went for a quick run up to teemburra yesterday. As per tradition I caught nothing. But I did see quite a number of cruising barra that were very flighty and unfortunatly saw about 10 dead ones. Did note that there were heaps of small bait fish schools about 50mm in the shallows of the bays.
Not sure what the water temps were as I dont have a temp gauge on the sounder but I was pulled over and checked by the fishos and they reckon it was about 22 on there sounder where we were at the time but that seemed a bit warm to me (using my finely tuned and highly calibrated finger in the water). Especially given that we have had mainly max temps of 22 or there about here in mackay recently I cant see water being that warm. By the way the fishos were nice guys who were very polite and professional.
