Hello all,

Been reading the latest trailer boat magazine and there is a right up about the Freedom Escape. Does anybody know or have heard any feed back about these boats. eg. ride and handling and whether the stringers are fibreglass or wood.
cheers

Yeah... IMO there factory fitout is sub standard. Looked at one recently which had 1 hour on it... they used water hose for fuel hose and the fuel tank was leaking...used screws when bolts would have been a beter option... little things which take there toll in a few years:P Havent seen there production methods so cant comment on boat manufacturing processes

yeah garry, you do get what you pay for, but they're heaps cheaper than the competition aren't they. if you were prepared to go through and fix up little things like that they'd be a pretty good boat. they'll never get the resale value of an equivalent size boat from say haines or signature but you've not paid anywhere near the cash either so you've got a saving on interest as well. (assuming you're like everyone else with a mortgage these days)

I've had mine 12 months now as well. Haven't noticed any fractures. Where exactly are they? Got any photos?
Your boat should have come with a 10 year structural warranty!!
Cheers, Scotty.

Scotty,
They are on the gel coat of the hull. From bow to stern, they are like hair line fractures that run along inside the runners on the hull and even the runners have fractures length wise . There is also a fracture on the chine that runs about 4-6" long. I discovered them by accident as you need to be under the boat looking up to notice them. It is a warranty issue so will be interesting to see the outcome.
Rgds
Alan
