I like baitcasters, I have Abu Garcia baitcasters but thought that this maybe a cheap alternative to a spare rod and reel.

Well I lost the auction on the reel (probably a good thing)but won the rod. So I guess I'll be answering my on question before to long. It's a 5'6 graphite baitcaster rod. Has cork handle and pistol grip. I only paid $15.50 for it. Others went for more so atleast it wont be an exspensive leason. Who knows it may be allright.

I have 2 Saratoga`s Overhead rods..the roller and housing seem to rust up pretty easily...I found the better rods are sold by Vic Trading on ebay...Much better quality for the same price...Cheers Mick

Well I received the rod yesterday, suprisingly it seems quite good in looks & quality. I will be testing it out on saturday. I looked on ebay before and noticed that they are'nt auctioning that rod anymore, they only have tham as "buy now" items for $64.95. I bought a reel from vic trading to go with it but it appears to be cheap and nasty so I'm not counting on that to survive saturday.
Cheers TT
P.S I stuffed up the rod description in my previous post, It's a 6' carbon fibre.

Iv bought at least 7 rods and reels from saratoga. I have landed some monster fish on them no drama at all... However, I bought the top of range surf, spin, baitcaster, boat and game rods - all extra heavy action.

I have never had an issue with this brand.
