Greetings all!
I've inherited 3 Alvey reels and a couple of overheads, all of which have some spotting of corrosion (suface only) on the metal mounts/legs and on some other parts of the metal fittings.
None of the corrosion is life threatening for the reels but it needs some attention so that it does not spread or get any deeper.
Does anyone have any information, other than using Silvo or a similar metal polish, to remove or stabilise the corrosion.
Thanks, Rob.

Soak the affected parts in a mixture of one third vinegar, two thirds water over night.Rinse in fresh water, and rub with a soft scouring pad.Won't come up like new,but will take care of the green verdigras.Cheers Phil.

Thanks for that!
Will give it a go on some trial pieces.
