Diesel Stern Drive Exhaust Oil Film

I am considering buying a diesel stern drive 6m walk-around. Has any one had any problem with oil film from the exhaust sticking to the transom and surrounds? I am concerned that this oil flim may cause complications if I add a marlin board.
