Good luck! I had one and sold it about 4 years ago. I was a little too big (and not very fuel economic with 2stroke twins) for what i needed but was a great boat. Funnily enough i took it for a quick run to make sure everything was in working order before i put it on the market and some one approached me at the ramp as i was putting it on the trailer, said he had been looking to but one of these for a long time and wondered if i was willing to sell. It must have been the quickest sale i have ever made ;D. Good luck trying to find one they are pretty rare these days and your unlikely to find one without a motor. I always try to keep an eye out to see if any come up for sale and I saw one recently on ebay in pretty good nick but with and old engine i think they still wanted around 16 k for it though. (It also seems when they do come up for sale a lot of people don't know what they are so they aren't always labeled as dehavilland trojans but as plate boat.. Aluminium offshore boat etc etc
Good luck
Chris

gees why would you want an old Trojan these days?? unless just for "old times sake" if you ever have owned an old Dehavilland then I guess you are an expert riveter! they used to make them out in Western Sydney I think, near where OMC used to be.

hey, I just found an old magazine with a test in a Trojan with twin Volvo Outboards, they towed it with a Valiant, Jesus what a combo.

Giday mate, I have actually seen a dehavilad trojan in a shed at Chermside in Brisbane a couple of years ago. It belonged to an old fella who couldm't take it out anymore and had been sitting for 10-12 years, it had with a big chrysler on the back. I remember that it was a half cabin and that it had a toilet I think it was about 18-19ft. I will drive past the place in the next few days and see if it is still there.

OH I see, I guess that would be OK, but not too sure about sleeping in the boat after a couple of trips out and it was all wet and smelly, but may be OK, just my thoughts only!!

To be honest it wasn't that bad, mine only ever lost a few rivets, but i did have to cut and fill an hole on the transom near the bungs as the corrosion was starting to get to the hull, It was after all a 30 year old hull. Apart from that they are a pretty indestructible old boat and the hull is well behaved with the only flaw I could find was the quiet bumpy ride, there was plenty of time i took it off shore in less then perfect weather and always felt safe. They are also quiet light and easily towed behind most family sedans... Not too many 6.4 plate boat these day you can do that with.
Cheers Chris

yep, all that is true, I used to work for a place that sold them, and there was a time that without a Dehavilland "offshore" you might just as well not go out, because you will not catch any fish in any other boat, the Offshore was about 14 foot or so long and had about 3 foot freeboard in the middle but about 1 foot at the bow and stern, looked sort of like a Banana upside down, if you fished in the back and had a bait tank as well, you needed a bilge pump to stay afloat.

gees on old seafury, that was Dehavillands attempts at glass boats, they made a few then they sort of went away, don't know what happened to them, how much do you want for the old girl? is it White with a Yellow top, I never saw any other colour.

Yeah this one is all white and they only made a few, solid as, great offshore rig, on a brooker trailer, and both registered .......... looking at around $4500
It,s been our family boat for about 15 years always under cover caught a lot of fish in this one, have up graded to a Viking, and my boys are not prepared to part with any cash, so she must go........cheers Jimmy
