A Sydney woman travelling aboard a luxury cruise ship off the West Australian coast has drowned after an excursion to a popular waterfall went wrong.

Just noticed this on Google News....

Hey bosun , my brother rang me up with some info , seems like a dinghy flipped in or around the horizontal falls ???
I've jumped it plenty of times great fun, for the wary....
Big tides now to, be awsome ..
Not sure what happened , but the more people that visit the more that are going to die , simple harsh equation , a bit like the country up their.
Also heard some other person died after falling off a crumbly cliff ????

I'm a local from Derby, W.A and this location is not an actual waterfall, it is caused by large 10m tides rushing into Talbot Bay through a opening about 30m wide. This creates a diference in water levels up to 2m depending on the size of the tide. Slack tides are the best time to enter, and it can be very dangerous half way through the tide. As these big cruise ships are on a tight schedule, they have to take the tourists through whenever they get there. Aparently they used Zodiacs and one flipped, resulting in one fatalaty. Beautiful coastline and water- magic boating and fishing.
