ok guys buying a 2nd h motor 60-70 hp looking for fuel efficiency from woodgate need to steam 90-120 mins to a reef that still has fish on it any ideas cheers

It would probably be safer to buy a new motor to travel that distance. But you won't get one for that money. You might be able to find a not too old four stroke, perhaps a private sale. IMO you'd be better off waiting and saving your money and getting a new motor, but not a carby two stroke because of their fuel consumption.

Would have to agree with bushbeachboy.
Bloody long way out to find fault with a s/h motor.
For sure it would not be impossible to find a reliable s/h unit, but IMO worth the peace of mind to save more and buy a new 4st or 2st injected.

Should be the odd 60 4 stroke around for that with high hours. That is the way I would go and join your local VMR and invest in a good EPIRB and VHF radio. S#*t happens - no matter the age or engine hours of any motor!

I recently purchaced 2x 70 hp suzuki 4/strokes with 470 hours on them for 10 k they are 05 models and are in exellent cond.Just look around ya might have to wait but they are out there.
