Does anyone know if the Evinrude E-Tec 75 hp sold locally comes with a Stainless Steel Prop as standard. The BRP US brochure says it does. Also what is the general feeling on S/S props I have heard that Ali is best in the case of where you might accidentaly hit something I was told you sacrifice the prop but save the gearbox. I do not make a practice of using my prop to stop but accidents do happen .

I am Wondering the same they do come standard with SS panted black non polished. I have been told that the newer ones are coming polished. I would not worry about hitting stuff as the gear box would have some sort of protection i would hope.

The protection traditionally for any large prop including stainless is the rubber bush that shears with force - same principal as a split pin on the smaller (and older) props. I dont know if its any different for an E-Tecs gear case, but I wouldnt have thought so.
