Used to hook the odd mutton bird out wide while being harrassed by the little buggers and being before the politically correct days we used to catch one on purpose and tie it up to the side of the boat and while it flapped around all the others would stay away from our baits, not really up to rspca standards but it worked............. wouldn't do it today........... funny how your standards change with the times...............

a couple of months ago i saw a guy catch a lobster in a cast net off paradise point jetty in the broardwater on the gold coast it weighed 2.1 kg

telascopic rod with reel, mutton bird,pelican and the bait wasn't even in the water,painted cray,star fish,2 turtles,a bait bag with a dead hairtail in it,a crab pot out at Hutchies.

My mate once caught a small clam when it shut on his sinker!! Wouldn't give it back either. Have had a fish jump in the boat as well...that sure wakes you up Ill tell ya.

MATE CAUGHT A FOX, yeh got it on a peice of meat fishing for eels, threw it on the opposite bank and got the bite and dragged it threw the creek...lol .lol thought he had the eel from hell till up came one wet cranky fox. cheers bdowdy

Pritty damn sure i cort a large turtle with a SP. Coudnt quite see as it took me for a ride for bout 20 mins before the line twanged bout 80 metres from the boat on the surface. saw a large shadow when the line gave way. and a reel that was covered in more growth then plastic. oh an me missus hand back nealy went over board half way thru a cast. haha
