Hi All,

I am new to the site and am looking for a bit of help on a rod and reel package/setup. I currently fish just off the Keppel's up here in beautiful Queensland and of late been pulling up some resonable size reefies and shark, the gear I have is just not up to the job. What do you suggest preferably keeping it under about $400 as a package.

Cheers
Brice

go with a shimano charter special and a 10-15kg rod should be about $300 and put some 50-65lb braid on it. that will give you a good set up you will be able to bottom fish and troll with it. I have a combo like this that I have used for a few years in mackay and have a few mates that fish with me using the same. Its nice and light heaps of guts.
