yep thats right v8 outbaord. my dad was recently over seas and he bought me back a fishing magazine. in it it talks about the release of a 350 horsepower v8 outboard. wouldnt that thing go. of course the americans dont care about he price of fuel so itll be a great engine for them haah.

Don't want to rain on your parade, but I'm pretty sure its allready been released here, maybe a month or so ago. As far as fuel use goes, if thats the sort of power you need to drive your boat, it's probably a pretty good alternative to the old mercruisers or twin carb fed 2 strokes.

OMC only ran with the V8 outboard for a couple of years. Most of them blew up ....

They continued to be used in the racing envirionment where they were pulled down each run and rebuilt. This is of course fine for the racng set but not so fine for the recreational market...

It will be interesting to see how reliable these Yammy V8's are. Oh, and Traviso182, Yamaha are Japanese, not American...... which makes the whole V8 concept a bit strange from a jap company..............

Cheers
