Looks like a bit of a con.....when i was shopping around for my new boat a found a 15 foot haines hunter alloy (same as my old boat)...with a 90hp merc on the back...i used to have a 50 and that thing would do around 55k....and shake the guts out of ya......id hate to go for a run in the same boat with a 90....not bad whan the baot was rated to 60 either....

I assume it is not a con as if you look at the modifications to the transom it looks as if it was made to suit the motor. I do agree it's full overkill and would be likley to get you killed in the wrong hands.
