Hey guys my mate and i are planning a little trip to the maquarie river, specifically along the bridle track this monday and tueseday hopefully chasing some cod. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience fishing down there, and if they have would they be so kind as to give me a bit of a run down on what the go is when fishing this area. We will be lurecasting only and of course anything we catch will be going straight back in!!! Weve had heaps of rain last night and today, how do cod respond to increased water flow and dirty water??? im hoping its running more clearly before we go. Im from Bathurst, but dont have much experience down there, ill be taking a 4WD so access wont be a prob,

Cheers

mmmm no luck unfortunatley, the river was semi flooding and the water was brown as, normally clear, and our trip coensided with the first real cold snap for winter mmm (well thats what we are blaming our failure on anyway!)

Great country sketchy road we set up swags at the turon - macquarie juntion then walked down river a heap, we did find 2 lost hunting dogs that followed us, who along the way feasted on a goat and a roo......

anyway cant wait to get back thier when the river and weather clears up a bit
