hi guys im looking for some lead. I want to start making some sinkers again but ive run out of lead and dont know where to get some ne pointers?
also was thinking about going to see the guys @ my lolcal tyre shop about wheel weights but dont know if they are pure lead or an aloy of some sort?
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Phil this thread gets bought up every now and again. Tyre weights are smelly and you have to get all the metal out of it before you poor.
Go down to your local metal merchant and buy sheet lead or weights from a weight belt for eg. Might cost you a bit more but less hazzarduss to your health. As your not standing over it for so long trying to get the crud out of it. Also stay away from batteries.

If you are driving around and see an old house having a new roof put on, call in and ask the roofer if he has taken off any of theold lead flashing etc. Used to get alot off the old roofs, over 12 months a few years ago we collected about 500kgs of the stuff, but we were working in the industry then was easy to get to the roofers.

Stop and ask, cant hurt, they can only say no
