G'day!!!
well I will have 2 weeks of in a weeks time and am keen to take my father (lives in W.A) out for a fish on bribie but I don't know what side to take him on? I will be getting a beach permit but I am unsure on where to go? Id love to take him out on the surf side after the tailor and some jewies at night but are they there yet? I haven't been on the calm side yet and am keen to check it out as the beach to the light house reach has opened up recently.
What would you recommend for the fishing side of things?
Thanks in advanced!
Cheers, Mick.;)

dunno about access from the surf side to the light house,,, but i haven't been up there for a few weeks,,,, but the main entry is beside the ranger station at the end of whitepatch,,,
i did a fairly comprehensive report on this in 4x4 forum,,,, check it out,,, it may give you a few tips,,,, also lucky phil followed up the report as he came across and done a bit of exploring also,,,

Thanks choppa, I did read about you post on it a while ago and I have to say it was bloody good!
I didn't mean to drive from the surf to the light house reach but from white patch to the Light house.
My main concern is how is the fishing on both sides? I wanna make sure my father has a good time and doesn't have to go back to WA and saying how bad the fishing really is ;)
Cheers, Mick.

There's a few decent tailor starting to come through. The best spots are off skirmish point and off the surf beach. Your best bet is from sun down into the night or early sunrise. Try driving up the beach from the Woorim entry track. I have most of my luck at about fourth lagoon aor at the stop sign (this is a wourld war 2 bunker which is as far as you are permited to go) You never know your luck I know someone that landed a 25kg cobia here. I fish these spots regulary as I live on Bribie.
Good Luck

Thanks Tailortaker, I just might head up that way if the wind is low (fingers crossed).
Do you use slugs (what sizes?) or bait? Ill probably take both up.
Cheers, Mick.

I use pillies most of the time, I find that works best for me
