Started the installation of my new electric on my boat today with the help of JOM and Megalongzilli.

Last year I redid the flooring

, so this is round 2 of mods to my boat.

My boat had no bow mount area, and to make matters worse, it also has an anchor well, centre bollard and a bow rail :-/. Not really the perfect setup for a leccy. But where there's a will there's a way.

So we had some work that required doing. Needed to modify the bow rail, remove the bollard and add a custom bow mount for the leccy; Additionally needed to add a mounting tray for the 2 batteries.

So lets get started:

Sand it down, and check where the mount fits best.

During this step we also positioned the motor ontop of the bow to ensure when motor is up and down everything works well.

Now its time for the big boys toys. The saws and welder.

Better not forget to remove the fuel tank first!

We got cutting with the steel saw and started to make the mounting plate.
We then tacked it in place and made sure it was nice and level (we leveled the boat prior to starting the welding).

Then we added the sides - things started to come together.

Check to see how leccy sits on the mount.

Toyed with remounting the bollard, but decided against it.

Then tacked the shortened rail back on.

Now for the battery tray. Its got to fit in here:

We used 4 bits of angle and a flat bit of Al for the tray. We used one very fancy drop saw for a nice finish.

You can see the tray fits quite nicely.

Awesome project and leccy is excellent insvestment to chase any fish without noise by outboard motor...

Question time;
How much pound thrust your leccy is?
Once Extra battery installed and how can you charge up battery when you are on house boat. I doubt if house boat can hold V240 power on board?
How much litre is fuel tank?

forward to see pic when the project is complete.

Silent - Long time no see - we'll have to go for a run out to mud so i can steal all of your bay SP techniques!

Leccy is a 24V, 75lb thrust motor
I have 2 12v 120ah deep cycle batteries in addition to my motor starting battery. The batteries need to be charged at home using a battery charger.
Its a 60L fuel tank.

Welding completed! Did a nice job too considering how tricky things get with a bow rail in the way.

Just need to mount the quick release bracket to the bow and all the mounting is done.
