how to look after my new sol

hey guys,

i purchased a sol 2500 reel this week and absolutely love it, however i dont want to ruin it with salt etc, so has anyone got any tips re maintenance on this reel.

is giving it a shower after use in saltwater enough? with the ocasional lube of course.

any tips appreciated.

Hi Ben. I suggest getting a copy of the latest fishing DVD (number 7). There is a great segment in there about how to care for your fishing reels that I found very informative. Basically they suggest wiping the reel down with a damp rag and then giving the bearings a few drops of oil after use.
