South wavebreak channel

Found a notice to mariners from last year about the sout wakebreak island channel not being navigible. Is this still the case
I'm talking about the channel from the grand hotel to the seaway.
Is it OK for a 17foot boat on low tide?

went thru there today on half tide, real shallow at the eastern end. take it on an angle, and turn hard as you cross the shallow bar, should reduce your draft enough if the boat's heeled right over when crossing.
