I've been looking for a decent bluewater spin stick for a while now and have come up with a choice between the Loomis PBR 844S or the Texalium Live Fibre 8-15kg. The rod will be used for macks, GT's etc and will be coupled with a Stradic 8000. Any other ideas on rod choice?

The Live Fibre series offers a great price/performance ratio. I have been using them for the last few years for 4 - 37 kg and fly rods and had no issues out in the coral sea or off morton after snapper, they are at least equal to or better than the more expensive US imports. My latest addition is a 15-24 kg spin texallum that I've matched to a Stella 10000FA and 24 kg braid for Jigging/heavy popper work as my standard 15-24 live fibre with a 10000 thunnus is limited to 8kg of drag, it will now be for 15kg braid work.

Money well spent.

I currently have a few of each brand and none has failed me yet but judging by the feel and sensitivity of the Loomis rods I have, they are hard to go past. Can't beat the breakage guarantee either.
