hi there , i am getting a new reel for using as my LBG spinning reel 8-10kg.is anyone using avet lever drag overheads , they have a good gear ratio .. are these good quality reels and is it best to buy from the usa... thanks leon

jetson go check out the "Chew on this" thread in the salt water section.
They use avet reels on the biggest cod you've ever seen. 100lbs of drag and they need every bit.

They're excellent reels buddy! Early models had a few bugs but they've pretty much been ironed out now..... I own an 'sx' which is spooled with about 260 yds of 10kg yo-zuri hybrid.... this is my mulloway/snapper reel...

I've pulled mine down a few times and its great to see a reel which doesn't have lots of plastic parts floating around plus it possesses a nice big carbonfibre drag washer.

therodworks.com.au have them in stock and at good prices.

Avets are probably the best buy for the money of any top line lever drag casting reel here. Every post I've ever read about them has nothing but praise.

I`d have to say my Avet JX is my favourite reel, and I have a few reels.

Tough, durable, great drag, and a pleasure to use.

thanks every one for your advice , i got a mjx , this reel is awsome had a quick spin with it yesterday and with the 6.3-1 ratio it really can crank a lure through the water , cant wait to have a good session with it ..... leon
