Left Gladstone around 9PM Thursday night for good run out to Masthead Island about 60 k's. First drop saw a nice 50cm redthroat come on board ;D but then all went quite:( . An early rise in the morning saw better fishing with good trout, more redthroat, good size grass lippers, and parrot. Also caught about a dozen red emporer... all too short and released except for one. Had the arms streched and was towed around the boat a few times by what turned to be a Chinaman >:( , also released. Flat as for the run home, pedal to the metal, feet up and smooth enough for a refreshing ale!

Nice one! Conditions look excellent. Was hanging out for this weekend to head out there but it wasn't to be.

Hi Indy, I've fished around North West Island a few times, fishing can be great... or quite depending on tide/moon/?. There are numerous other reefs within 20k of NW that can be fished using NW as a base, if you have enough fuel. Its around 100k from Gladstone to NW. Only a small section around NW is Green Zone.

Camsharkman has that new boat a run yet??

Well done Tinman, nice looking catch. Knew the weather was good offshore with all those double axle trailers in the carpark on Friday morning and me being at work. Buggar!
