Hi All,

Have been thinking of having a rocket launcher made for my Blue Fin weekender to get the rods out of the way.

2 questions please.

1: Where is a good place to have them made or buy one pre-made
2: anyone know an approximate cost please?

Cheers

Depending on the space you have available and the number of rods you want to store - you can DIY these pretty easy. Plastic models can be bought from any boat shop or even KMART - not sure of price. Most boat shops have online version, do a google search for; Whitworths, Glasscraft, Springwood Marine, Bias Boating - should be a good start.

if you want something that will last and add value to your boat, stay away from Kmart and places, spend a few more dollars and get something that will hold your rods and reels and look good as well, most 'universal fit" stuff fit nothing properly and fall to bits before you know it and then you go and get something custom made, and wasted the initial purchase price.

yeah was hoping to get something decent made in stainless or similar.
Don't want cheap crap, just wondering who will do it.

and rough price for it.

There are a whole bunch of people on here who do welding and work with steel. I'll PM you the email of someone who might help.

Hi Mtx,

I've recently made a rocket launcher setup for my boat off the back of the baitboard, even though my boat is glass you can still you the same principles. Mine is simply a stainless handrail with bolt on stainless rod holders from withworths.

Thanks very much for all the replies. I have a rocket launcher and a baitboard to match under way at the moment. Will post some pics once it is done.
