Hello People.

Attached pictures shows pictures of the driver helm area (in front of seat pedestal).

I want to cut away that step and glass in floor to match existing floor level.

I am 6’2” and wish to make my steering ergonomics more comfortable by lowering my hand height – relative to steering wheel.

If I cut this step away (and glass gap as floor), will I compromise the structure in any way?

Thanks for your help

Step is about 100mm high

maybe the reason for the step is the taper of the hull will interfer with the location of the pedistal if the step isnt there, maybe you could take 100mm off the pedistal. A lot easier and if not the outcome you want, another pedistal would be cheaper to replace

Think Blaze has got it in one, also the step could be the front top of one of your sealed compartments? also could be the uppermost portion a structural bulkhead?

cheers fnq

Thanks boys.

Looks like the step is here to stay :-(

Oh-well, looks like I'll have to age a bit more and wait till my neck/backbone curves more.. :-)

Or, even - 'go weak at the knees'... :-)
