arrived at tin can sat avrvo just in time to cross the bar in the day light,
conditions were ok but really didnt get any better,current at anchor was ordinarry but managed a couple of great reds well jay did not so good for me droped a monster boat side

Hi kitty cat,

firstly - great catch - from what I read, you've put in the hard yards to earn it.

Nicole and I are heading up North (mackay way) over easter and will be having a crack at the reds.

Can you tell me what type of set up you were using - as far as rig style and bait.

was it on live bait/fresh bait etc. and how you rigged it.

I've been using whole large squid (fresh not live) on a 2x snell hook set up, most often on a paternoster rig(only one bait on the rig though). but they tell me live Hussar or Hussar fillets are great for reds - interested to know what works for you.
