Hi, I have posted this in Electronics too, but there is more traffic here.

After a lot of research and budget consideration I am leaning towards a Humminbird 757C GPS sounder combo.
Does anyone have any experience with this unit or the 755C? Thanks.:)

I have the 787c2 version. It works really well is easy to use and the definition is good, only problem I have is getting depth reading at speed, but I believe thats the case with a lot of units.

In my expirence the biggest problem with the Humming bird sounders is the instalation diagram is wrong.
resulting in a incorrect fitting, and this leads to poor sounding at speed.
from my trial and error the transducer when fitted as per template is TOO LOW ,
corsing a bubble trail that interfers with the reading at speed.
this is also the case with Furuno sounders.
on 1 instalation i had to raise the trtansducer 12mm higher than the tamplate to get a reading at speed and to stop the outboard getting dround from the spray.
the main reason for this is these transducers are big and sit farther back on large brackets.
the rising water from the trailing edge of the transom is rising at probably 30 deg
so a flush or just below the bottom of the hull , they state 5mm bellow and the trailing edge of the transducer a tad lower again from there.
is too low.
