I Was watching the show this morning and they were fishing in the Estuary, and they were after a certain species..It was an introduced fish, now its become a pest so to speak, there is no bag limit, and they Dont want you to throw them back..
I cant remember the exact name, I "Think", Think they said Red tail perch, is this right, is this fish around, I may have the name wrong..??
Anyone that might know??

yeah - redfin perch or just called redfin. Common in many parts of NSW and Vic. Nearest place I know of to Queensland where they are found is Copeton Dam near Glen Innes

You wouldn't want to get tipped out.. :o.
Iv fished from a canoe when I was a teen, only me in there though, with a friend, she had her own too, it was in calm waters so that made it better..:)

I find the compare Steve to be one of the most annoying people on TV the show itself is sort of OK but he is a Nitwit (I think anyway) and his WA accent can be a tad agravating as well, just my thoughts of course

He is a great guy. Met him in Perth a couple of years ago at a mining expo.

I have to admit he is a bit of a doofus, but he is passionate, they catch heaps of fish and try to convey a lot of tips and knowledge throughout the show.
Its hard not to like a bloke who obviously loves his fishing as much as he does.

cheers Scott

not saying he is not a good guy, don't know about that) but as a host he is a dimwit! (in my opinion)

OH and I forgot the MOST annoying thing is wearing their sponsors hats, even in the night time segments, even sometimes backwards so as the name is in clear (clee arr) view.

yes, he seemed to get much worse in the later shows, and his stupid laugh almost makes you want to strangle him

Steve The doofus i can handle, but I find it almost painful to watch Rex.
Yes cheezy13,I also hate his condescending attitude.
His laugh does truly suck and i still grimace when i see him break the line with the hook down the fishes throat.

cheers Scott
