After talking to JustOneMore saturday afternoon and hearing about his success with the spotties that day i made the decision to head down the gold coast on sunday. We were on the water and trolling by the gentlemanly hour of 10:30am. First hit was at just after 11 and once we found them it was non-stop fishing till about 2pm. At one stage there were hundreds of spotties just milling around the boat. We caught some on slugs but only the fastest retreive would result in a hit.
We spotted a 5-6ft hammerhead and my mate couldnt resist throwing a slug in front of its nose, it gave chase for a few seconds but veered off as it approached the boat. Also caught two reef sharks on trolled pillies, one about 4ft and another about 5ft long. These were a real surprise and on the lighter gear we were using (20lb mono, small overheads) took at least 20min each to land.
However the biggest surprise was that very few boats headed out and we had the fish to ourselves;D.
Kept 8 spotties for the table, released a few smaller ones and had plenty of bite offs.
When the fish were cleaned we found they were full of whitebait approx. 1 inch long.

Looks like you got some sound info there!!!! Glad you didn't head up the coast hey?

They were a little hard to find, but once on the spot they were everywhere! Hope this is the start of a good run. Well done guys.
