Hi all,

Have just come down from Darwin and looking at heading out in the bay and beyond, any tips on some good spots.

Just keep your eye on the reports section and you'll pick up on some general areas. With regards to your other thread asking about coffee rock.........you could have modified this post rather than start another thread....saves you a lot of bother. Just click the edit button in the bottom right hand of your post and it lets you change your original post.

Mate, there's coffee rock in quite a few places, inside Moreton and outside. There's also coffee rock at western rocks.

Beacon to beacon has GPS marks and there's a 500 waypoint book on sale at tackle shops and newsagents for a few bucks. These spots likely get hammered though..........part of the fun is spending a day sounding around and finding your own marks which are likely to be more productive.

Good luck and welcome to the best fishing site with the best crew, on the net.

Kingtin,

Thanks for the forum tip and your replie to the coffee rock question, I had a thought that that was the case due to the distinct lack of a plot.

Thanks for the welcome

Hey Reaper,

Great looking boat!

Moreton Bay is great - no need to go outside the bay unless you want to target marlin or wahoo etc.

Head out around Peel and Mud islad and use your sounder around the drop offs.

You can also do the same on the inside of Northern Moreton Island.

There are some great channels and drop offs running along the inside of Moreton and even down Stradbroke.

we get pelagics, as well as reefies in the bay.

Couple good spots down the southern end for bullsharks, mullet on a 6/0 hok is the best bait.

Hey Reaper,
Welcome aboard.
There's a heap of Ausfish people willing to help. Just yell if you need any info on the bay and beyond. I'm an ex Katherinite and now a Moreton Bay northsider. :)
Cheers
