new springs

Morning all,
i am fitting new slipper type springs on the trailer this morning at my mates work shop, i will put a mark on the rail for where the axle is and weld the front hanger.. but how do you know where the the back slipper bracket would be mounted?

do i put a bit of weight back down on the springs to locate the back slipper?
if anyone can help ASAP would be much appreciated

how long are the springs??
Two I have here are about 700 from cente of the eye to the eye end of the slipper mount.

Why not weld the hangers up, mount everything as it is and then you can mark exactly where you need your rear slipper.

the spring kit my mate brought thru his shop for me, Trojan brand thru Repco, not sure how good they are

lucky enough a guy had seen his shop open and droped in to get his car checked, (he builds trailers for a liveing) at that stage we had all the under carriage striped, the guy helped us out for about an hour, did'nt take long at all, haveing the use of a hoist and all the right tools is so handy.
